leah kohn - president

Leah, Paul's (of blessed memory) wife has been President of Quality Kosher Catering since 1998. The backbone and dedication that Leah brings has paved the way for countless successes in the company's history. She has built relationships with many of our team members and clients that continues to improve everything we do and create on a daily basis.

Daniel kohn - ceo

As the third generation following Etta (who started the company) and Paul who built Quality Kosher Catering into what it is today, Daniel was fortunate to grow up in an environment that was filled with culinary passion and creativity.

After working with the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company in Colorado and New York, Daniel moved back to Michigan in 2011 to continue the tradition of excellence that Etta and Paul started.

Merritt Rosenthal - director of operations

Merritt Rosenthal has over 15 years of event and catering experience in the hospitality industry. A graduate of University of Michigan Ross School of Business, she started her young business career as a buyer, but was quickly enthralled by the event planning and catering world where she has been ever since. Owning a Wedding and Event Planning Company for 10 years provided the foundation and skills needed to later join the Catering Team at the Townsend Hotel.

Raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan, Merritt later moved to the Birmingham area where she now lives with her two children, Stella and Logan.

sanford (sandy) singal - Kravings gm

Sandy Singal has been with Quality Kosher Catering long enough that there isn't anything he can't do, and since day one with the company, there isn't anything he won't do to improve something for the sake of the product or the client experience. He treats every client as if they are the only client and greatly impacts and improves everything we strive for. 

Sandy started with our company at La Difference in 2000 and is now the GM of our sister restaurant Kravings

amber mauney - Director of sales & events

Amber graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Recreation and Event Management and a minor in Hospitality. She joined Quality Kosher Catering in 2016 and has added a flair to everything she touches in a way that only she can. Her clients always feel truly cared for and her creativity always takes any event to the next level of "wow"!

In addition to creating lifetime memories for her clients, Amber enjoys crafting, going outside, and playing with dogs!

Lisa devriendt - office & sales coordinator

Lisa graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Hospitality and Event Management in 2012. Lisa joined Quality Kosher Catering in the beginning of 2013 and was immediately a powerful force in recreating and innovating so much of what we do. It is thanks to people like Lisa that our company has the honor of being around so long and still pushing and innovating in our industry!

Lisa’s care and talent shows in everything she does including the wonderful relationships she builds with her co-workers & clients.

david carris - executive pastry chef

David has 27 years of culinary experience in the metro Detroit area, 18 of which have been spent with Quality Kosher Catering. David was a Michigan Chefs De Cuisine Pastry Chef of the Year Nominee in 2016 and serves as our team captain helping to raise over $60,000 for the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. Outside of Pastry Arts David enjoys time with his wife and four kids, cycling and traveling.

Favorite Quote - "A friend is someone who keeps your secrets and never divulges them, even if tortured - or worse, tempted with chocolate."

sheldon goldner - kosher supervisor/purchaser

In 2001 Sheldon Goldner found a new career as the Star-K Mashgiach (Kosher Supervisor) at Quality allowing him to use his knowledge of Kosher to insure the highest standard of kosher practices and supervision. 

Sheldon is married for over 30 years to his lovely wife Susan. They are parents to 5 children and the Zayde and Bubby to the 7 most wonderful grandchildren on the planet.

don smith - logistics team leader

Passionate and friendly are two great ways to describe Donell Smith.  He started working at Quality Kosher Catering in June 1986 as a Steward and has grown into his current position as Chief Steward and Logistics Team Leader. In his 33 years of work and commitment at QKC, Don has positively contributed to everything that happens here.  Don was born and raised in Alabama but moved to Michigan in 1964.  Don has three young adults, Siade Smith, Donell Smith Jr. and Dangelo Smith.  The enthusiasm Don shows about his family has undoubtedly been carried throughout his work for over three decades at QKC.

andy cichy - logistics team leader

There is not a day where you won’t see Andy on-the-go or driving around the town for Quality Kosher Catering.  We were thrilled when Andy joined the team ten years ago (2009) as a steward and dish washer. Andy works with Don as a Steward and Logistics Team Leader.  When Andy is not working, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.  Andy is a dynamic teammate who enjoys that QKC is a dynamic place to work where he participates in different events and venues.  Do not hesitate to stop Andy and say “hello”, as he will be sure to respond with a big smile!
